What You Will Be Doing
- The inpatient Occupational Therapy (OT) service include Frankston Hospital, Frankston Public Surgical Centre, Golf Links Rd Rehabilitation and Palliative Care Unit, The Mornington Centre and Rosebud Hospital.
- These acute and subacute services provide OT assessment and intervention with a focus on managing clinical risks and facilitating safe and effective discharge planning.
- Clinical areas may include but not limited to acute and subacute renal, medical, surgical, orthopaedic, neurological, oncology and geriatric evaluation and management (GEM).
- This role provides evidence based occupational therapy assessment and intervention for the inpatient wards across sites as required to support teams with periods of leave.
- The leave reliever is supported by the occupational therapy team to work within their scope of practice and best utilise their areas of skill and expertise whilst also supporting their learning and development in new areas of clinical work.
- The role provides formal and informal supervision to grade one occupational therapists, allied health assistants and students from all year levels as required to support the functioning of the team during times of leave.
- Occupational therapists are key members of the team and work closely with Medical, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Social Work, Dietetics, Speech Pathology and Podiatry.

What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
- Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (via AHPRA).
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
- High level skills in assessment of occupational performance considering physical, cognitive and psychosocial aspects of the person and their environment and determine appropriate intervention and discharge planning for the setting.
- Demonstrated competence in the area of home assessments and recommendations for equipment and basic home modifications.

*Please refer to salary circular for Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021 – 2026 for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
