What You Will Be Doing

The graduates across the program will be supported by a structured education program, individualised learning plan and weekly supervision via 1:1 and peer models. Occupational Therapy graduates will also have opportunities to participate in project / portfolio work and support in the supervision of occupational therapy students. This is a twelve-month contact commencing 9th February, 2026, which aims to develop the successful applicant to be ready to apply for permanent ongoing positions in mental health.

What You Need

We anticipate you will:

  • Have an approved degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (via AHPRA).
  • Have a sound knowledge and interest in the provision of occupational therapy services to people with mental health issues.
  • Have the ability to assess occupational performance considering physical, cognitive and psychosocial aspects of the person and their environment and determine appropriate intervention in a mental health setting.
  • Have the ability to monitor your own performance.
  • Take an organised and methodical approach to the prioritization of tasks and regularly plans and tracks progress.

*Please refer to salary circular for VICTORIAN PUBLIC MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT 2020-2024 for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience. It is strongly recommended that individuals in this role remain up to date with their COVID-19 vaccinations.
