The Team & Role
The Grade 2 Occupational Therapy position provides excellent OT services to consumers within our Adult Acute Mental Health Unit. The role requires experience and skills in occupational therapy assessment and intervention for consumers, aged 18+ years, who are experiencing a range of mental health conditions, which may include changes/challenges in many areas of occupational performance and function. Intervention may be on an individual or group basis, and include all areas of occupational performance relevant to the consumer’s identified goals. You will also contribute to and support MDT discussions, meetings, quality improvement opportunities and work with other relevant stakeholders to support high quality care and discharge planning.

Skills and Experience Required
- Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (via AHPRA)
Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
High level skills in the assessment of occupational performance considering physical, cognitive and psychosocial aspects of the person and their environment and determine appropriate intervention in the adult person’s mental health unit.
Demonstrated ability to participate in interdisciplinary team work and discharge planning activities
High level of verbal and written communication skills appropriate for the purpose and intended audience
Demonstrated commitment to professional development and evidence based practice
Demonstrated commitment to own professional supervision
Ability to supervise students, Grade 1 staff and Lifestyle and LeisureEssential: Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (via AHPRA)
