Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.

 

The Team & Role

Peninsula Health offers a dynamic Grade One Occupational Therapy Rotation Program with 6‑month rotations across acute, subacute, community, physical, and mental health settings. The program provides strong professional and operational support through experienced Grade Two therapists, regular supervision, and ongoing professional development.

As a Grade One Occupational Therapist, you will deliver safe and effective assessment and intervention to support patient recovery, promote timely discharge, and prevent readmission. You’ll work closely within a multidisciplinary team and develop the clinical skills needed to grow into an independent practitioner.

Skills & Experience Required

 

  • Current Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (via AHPRA).
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
  • A keen interest and motivation to increase your occupational therapy skills in public health in physical and/or mental health settings.
  • Ability to assess occupational performance considering physical, cognitive and psychosocial, aspects of the person and their environment and determine appropriate intervention in physical and mental health settings.
  • Aware of, interprets and applies Occupational Therapy theoretical frameworks.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills in a variety of settings.
  • Monitors own performance. Takes an organised and methodical approach to the prioritisation of tasks and regularly plans and tracks progress.
  • Conducts evidence based practice and is committed to professional development.
  • Ability to be an effective team member within the occupational therapy and multidisciplinary team settings.
