What You Will Be Doing
Peninsula Health are looking for enthusiastic Paediatricians to join our team in the innovative outreach program. The acclaimed Outreach program consists of outreach clinics in Educational Hubs where a Paediatrician and Community fellow work in collaboration with Educational providers in assessing and managing children from low socioeconomic areas.
Each clinic is once a week during school term for 7 hours. It is aimed at children in school presenting with developmental problems and complex behaviours. It provides timely and accessible Paediatric care for these families in close collaboration with Educational providers and welfare staff. The clinic does not offer child protective assessments or stand-alone Mental Health Services.

- Social and Emotional difficulties
The successful candidate will have the support of a Community Paediatric Fellow, but also the responsibility to supervise this fellow. Working in a team involving school teachers and Education Department Psychologists to case conference within the school, which is a key task.
Familiarity with community services and referral pathways, including NDIS & DHHS, would be essential knowledge.

What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
- Medical Practitioner Registered in Australia.
- FRACP ( Paediatrics)
- Sound clinical knowledge, skills and experience in contemporary medical and evidence based practice relevant to variety of medical conditions.
- Knowledge of developmental milestones in the paediatric population
- Knowledge of mandated requirements in terms of child protection issues
- Excellent communication skills
- Broad knowledge of General Paediatric medical conditions
- Ability to liaise with allied health professionals as well as other agencies.
- Patient safety and quality review knowledge and skills
- Leadership and time management skills
- Supervision of paediatric trainees – both AT and BT in either community paediatrics or general paediatrics
- Mentoring and teaching Junior Medical Staff and medical students
