Exciting part-time opportunity available for a Project Officer in Evidence Synthesis for Dementia Guidelines. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Evidence Synthesis team to support the update of the National Dementia Clinical Guidelines, conducting evidence synthesis and developing essential project documentation to advance project goals. A primary focus will be on supporting evidence synthesis for to support the Guideline Development Group to develop recommendations, ensuring that timelines are met effectively and contributing to promote health and wellbeing across the lifespan.


What You Will Be Doing 

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Evidence Synthesis - Lead evidence synthesis for guideline development by consulting on PICO questions, developing systematic reviews, and preparing evidence profiles. Conduct literature searches, critical appraisals, and data analysis, assessing bias in studies. Present findings systematically to support recommendations and prepare materials for guideline panel meetings, while also aiding in the publication and dissemination of guidelines.
  • Reporting – Act as a key liaison point and subject matter expert in relation to project progress and objectives. Including working with the Senior Program Manager and other key stakeholders to coordinate workstream inputs, provide regular updates to the evidence synthesis team and to manage the preparation of evidence for consideration by the Guideline Development group.
  • Research and analysis - Undertake research and analysis, devise solutions and provide practical and expert advice to senior management to address complex project related issues. 
  • Engagement with key stakeholders - develop and maintain strong partnerships with key project stakeholders and undertake networking to support project objectives by networking, liaising, presenting information and coordinating or attending stakeholder meetings.
  • Risk Management - identify and report on risks and issues relating to projects and implement and monitor risk mitigation strategies. 

 

What You Need
We anticipate you will have:

  • A degree in a relevant field with subsequent relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in technical/management or administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Substantial experience with undertaking systematic evidence syntheses, including either systematic reviews or clinical practice guidelines, ideally, but not necessarily involving quantitative data.
  • High-level research, analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and recommend solutions to challenging issues. Experience working with a range of analytical software, including those to undertake evidence synthesis and guideline development, is desirable.
  • Excellent project coordination and management skills with a demonstrated capacity to develop and implement effective operational processes and systems. 
  • Highly developed relationship management and consulting skills, including the ability to interact, influence and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders. 
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with experience establishing priorities, managing time and planning work to meet deadlines.
