Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026. 

 

The Team & Role 

 

This position is available to a suitably skilled Psychologist. The role responds to high levels of child development delay in disadvantaged communities in the catchment area. A holistic approach to supporting the family and informed by the social model of health is valued. The role has a developmental focus with significant use of counselling skills to support change.

 

In addition to individual assessments and intervention, the role provides support to families and key workers in the community on the developmental needs of the child. This includes outreach, consultancy, education, group work and health promotion. The role will also facilitate access to other care, health promotion and education services as required. The Grade 2 Psychologist contributes to the discipline group responsible for providing and co-ordinating the clinical services requiring human services input in a multidisciplinary setting.   The Grade 2 Psychologist contributes to the professional group and broader team.

 

 

  


 

Skills & Experience Required 

 

  • Qualification in Psychology and fully registered with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrate experience providing evidence–based therapy services to children and their families within the community sector, including exceptional counselling skills.
  • Established skills and commitment to working in child-centred and family-focused practices including skills in working with vulnerable and disadvantaged families.
