The Team & Role

The Grade 3 Psychologist within the Osteoarthritis Hip and Knee Service (OAHKS) plays a key role in supporting patients whose psychological factors impact their arthritis management and rehabilitation. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the role provides evidence-based, short-term psychological interventions, education, and support to address issues such as persistent pain, mood changes, anxiety, and sleep difficulties. The position also involves managing referrals, contributing to care planning, collaborating with team members and external services, and ensuring continuity of care. In addition, the psychologist supports service development, provides supervision and education, and contributes to continuous improvement and high-quality, person-centred care delivery.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

•    Postgraduate qualification in psychology
•    Hold current general registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA
•    Minimum of 5-years’ experience working as a general Psychologist
•    Previous experience or special interest in working with persistent pain presentations

Desirable    
•    An Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical, Health or Counselling Psychology is desired
•    Registration a board-approved supervisor, or commitment to working toward same is desired
