The Team & Role

The Critical Care & Emergency Registered Nurse (Dual-Stream) is a valued and integral member of the Peninsula Health multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility in caring for patients and their families across the organisation. In both the Emergency Department and Critical Care settings, the RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents comprehensive nursing care in accordance with evidence‑based best practice standards and Peninsula Health values. The RN works competently within their scope of practice to deliver safe, evidence‑based, person‑centred care, providing support to patients and families in high‑acuity environments and striving to achieve optimal health outcomes or, when required, a dignified death.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration. 
  • Demonstrated experience working in both Intensive Care AND Emergency Department settings. 
  • Completion of a graduate year program or equivalent experience.
  • Currently hold or willing to work towards a post‑graduate qualification in one of the following: 
    • Critical Care Nursing
    • Emergency Nursing 
    • Intensive Care Nursing 
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an acute environment.
