On 1 January 2026 five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health. A newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.  

 

The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

What You Will Be Doing
As a Registered Nurse Grade 2, you’ll be part of a dynamic and diverse team delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in one of Victoria’s busiest Emergency Departments, supporting over 75,000 attendances annually.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and apply critical skills in triage, assessment, and emergency management of patients with a wide range of medical conditions, trauma, and life-threatening presentations.
  • Contribute to the newly expanded Paediatric Emergency Zone and Mental Health Hub
  • Support the Emergency Short Stay Unit, enhancing patient flow and reducing wait times for those requiring less than 24 hours of care.

  • 5 Resuscitation Bays, including a Class-N negative pressure room
  • A dedicated Mental Health and AOD Hub
  • A purpose-built Paediatric Zone
  • A streamlined Fast Track area
  • Short Stay beds for efficient patient management

Position Description


What You Need

We anticipate you will have:
• Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA
• Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with experience and scope of practice in the specialty of Emergency or Critical Care.

• Over 3 years of experience working in an Emergency Department
• Passion to work in a fast paced, supportive team environment
• Availability to work across a 7 day rotating roster
• A Post Graduate qualification in Emergency or Critical Care Nursing or working towards (desirable)

*Please refer to salary circular for (Nurses and Midwives Victoria Public Health Sector 2024-2028) for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
