On 1st January 2026, five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health; a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.
The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1st January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.
The Team & Role
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a valued and integral member of the Peninsula Health multidisciplinary team demonstrating flexibility in caring for patients and their families across the organisation. The RN works competently within their scope of practice to deliver safe, evidence based person centred care to achieve optimal health outcomes or a dignified death.
Our Team in the Operating Suite works with passion to deliver world class healthcare for the local community. Our nursing teams work in streams including Day of Admission (DOSA), Anaesthetics, PACU, Endoscopy and Scrub Scout.
Our Operating Rooms provide a service for a variety of craft groups. Specialities across our sites include: ENT, thoracic, vascular, plastic, facio maxillary, orthopaedic, urology, general surgery, endoscopy, obstetrics and gynaecology and emergency surgery. There is an element of paediatric surgery in ENT, plastic, orthopaedic and general surgery.

Skills and Experience Required
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Completion of a graduate year program
- Recent significant clinical experience in Perioperative Nursing (Endoscopy, Anaesthetics, PACU, Scrub Scout)
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Able to use basic computer software applications
- Post Graduate studies in Perioperative Nursing (desirable)
