Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.

The Team & Role

Peninsula Care Group sees 90,000 patients annually, with 25% of presentations being paediatric.

Frankston ED has the highest number of ambulance presentations in the state of Victoria. It has a five-bed resuscitation area with state-of-the-art equipment to provide high quality care to critically ill patients. Clinical support is provided by expert clinical staff and educators guiding students to apply theoretical knowledge to practice.

Experience is gained in all areas of emergency nursing including paediatrics, mental health, triage, procedural sedation, resuscitation, non-invasive ventilation and haemodynamic monitoring. Clinical study days will supplement learning with a focus on practical application. Our aim is to support your development as an emergency nurse, preparing to work in the resuscitation and triage areas of the emergency department, during a year that is both challenging and enjoyable.

We offer a friendly and supportive clinical learning environment with experienced educators who offer clinical support, education and guidance. You will have an opportunity to care for a range of presenting patients, which will enable you to develop your knowledge, skills and confidence as an emergency nurse. Designated education days will assist you further in consolidating the theoretical and practical elements of the course.

This program comprises of dynamic and challenging learning opportunities, as well as a comprehensive introduction to the resuscitation and triage areas of emergency nursing in a supported environment. With theoretical components consisting of study days and workshops. Including clinical support, debriefs and assessments, assignments and a written exam.

Skills & Experience Required 

Essential 

  • Current restriction free Nursing Registration with AHPRA
  • A minimum of two years post registration experience
  • Meet the Essential Selection Criteria listed on the Position Description.
  • The ability to use basic computer software applications
  • The ability to work in an ever-changing and fast paced work environment
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development
