Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.

The Team & Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a valued and integral member of the Peninsula Care Group multidisciplinary team demonstrating flexibility in caring for patients and their families across the organisation. The RN works competently within their scope of practice to deliver safe, evidence-based person-centred care to achieve optimal health outcome.

The Transition to Mental Health Program is a 6-month program with two 3-month rotations in various mental health settings. You will be working through a structured learning program designed to develop your mental health knowledge and skill set in a safe, supervised environment.

Skills & Experience Required 

Essential 

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Completion of a graduate year program or equivalent experience
  • Interested in a career in mental health nursing.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high quality outcomes for consumers.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with experience.
  • Able to use basic computer software applications.
  • Communicates well with and relates to consumers from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Prepares written documentation using clear, concise and grammatically correct language
