What You Will Be Doing 

The Psychiatric Assessment and Planning Unit (PAPU) is a 6 bed, 24 hour, 7 day a week mental health short stay assessment and planning unit for the provision of accelerated access to specialist psychiatric assessment and short term treatment. Ideally, the care provided should be of less than 72 hours to allow for the determination of appropriate clinical pathways.


As a RPN on our Psychiatric Assessment and Planning Unit, you will provide recovery orientated care to inpatient consumers and their families/carers.

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Post Graduate Qualification in Mental Health Nursing or willingness to complete
  • Experience working in an inpatient mental health setting
  • Completion of a graduate year program or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of Recovery Orientated practice in Mental Health Care
