What You Will Be Doing
 

The Safer Care Consultant (SCC) provides advice and support to clinical and operational leaders of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, in relation to building capability to provide care that is consistent with the Peninsula Care framework, ie care that is safe, effective, personal and connected. The SCC assists with continuous readiness for various accreditation processes, including supporting:

  • Local areas operationalise the local Peninsula Care framework goals and plans
  • Organisational Quality and Safety Standard Committees.

This includes assistance with investigating adverse events and near misses, developing and evaluating improvement plans for identified gaps in service provision, and reporting findings to the broader organisation. 

 

What You Need


We anticipate you will have:

  • Tertiary level qualifications
  • In depth knowledge and experience in incident management systems
  • Experience or understanding of quality improvement methodologies
  • Well-developed data management skills
  • Recent clinical experience in a Mental Health and Wellbeing setting

* Please refer to salary circular for NURSES AND MIDWIVES (VICTORIAN PUBLIC SECTOR) (SINGLE INTEREST EMPLOYERS) ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT 2024-2028 for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
