What You Will Be Doing

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health & Wellbeing team at Bayside Health, Peninsula Care Group. This is an exceptional opportunity to provide strategic and clinical leadership, drive excellence in nursing practice, and shape the future of mental health service delivery.

As a key member of the senior mental health leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality, evidence-based nursing care and strong clinical governance across the mental health nursing workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain professional nursing standards and high-quality service delivery across the mental health nursing workforce.
  • Support the governance of clinical nursing KPIs.
  • Provide strategic nursing leadership in alignment with Bayside Health and PCG nursing and midwifery strategic priorities.
  • Champion workforce development to achieve high-quality consumer outcomes and exceptional experiences for consumers, carers, families, and supporters.
  • Lead clinical supervision and professional development for the nursing workforce.
  • Support the Director of Nursing (Mental Health) in governance of Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs).
  • Drive the implementation of research into clinical practice, ensuring evidence-based care standards.
  • Lead and support innovative models of care, ensuring alignment with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Undertake project leadership, including nurse-led initiatives such as Safer Care Frameworks.
  • Maintain your own professional development in line with contemporary best practice.

What You Need 

We anticipate you will have: 

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse 

  • Experience working in an inpatient mental health setting. 
  • Post Graduate Qualification in Mental Health Nursing 

  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high quality outcomes for consumers 

  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team 

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of Recovery Orientated practice in Mental Health Care 

  • Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards including EQuIP and National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.

*Please refer to VICTORIAN PUBLIC MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT 2025-2028 circular for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
