The Team & Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Speech Pathologist to join the Bayside Health Peninsula subacute team on a fixed term basis (parental leave) 32 hours a week, until December 2026. The Senior Subacute Speech Pathologist provides clinical and operational leadership in the subacute setting, which is based across two sites. The role requires a strong patient-centred approach, collaborative working style and involvement in service development opportunities.
The subacute senior speech pathologist plays an active role in clinical education for students and clinicians. Working closely with other senior clinicians in Speech Pathology and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will provide best practice care in a supported environment.
A regular day could see you:
- running a group aphasia therapy session
- conducting swallowing assessments (clinical bedside, or Videofluoroscopy)
- providing education to a patient and their family in supporting discharge planning
- supervising a Grade 2 Speech Pathologist
- representing speech pathology in a multidisciplinary group

Skills & Experience Required
- Eligible for practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
- Extensive experience and knowledge in the provision of best/evidence based subacute speech
pathology services. - Ability to provide effective leadership for clinical practice and operational performance, within a
dynamic multidisciplinary setting. - Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) competency and experience in developing and
facilitating training and competency programs (desirable)
