On 1st January 2026, five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health; a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.
The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1st January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.
What You Will Be Doing
Specialist in Paediatric Neurology – Reporting of Paediatric EEG/Sabbatical leave cover
This is a position to cover for sabbatical leave for 2 months (30/3/2026 - 30/5/2026). We will require you to work a nominal 1 hour per week, involving reading and reporting outpatient paediatric electroencephalograms (EEG) performed locally for children ages 2 yo to < 18 yo. This work can be conducted remotely. Your salary will then be calculated based on the number of hours worked in the fortnight.
This role is for a Paediatric Neurologist and may also have clinic time available for the right applicant.
On-call commitments: On call is not applicable to this role.

Skills & Experience Required
- Registerable as a Specialist Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Physicians (SAC in Paediatric Neurology) or equivalent higher specialist qualification
- Sound clinical knowledge, skills and experience in contemporary medical and evidence based practice relevant to variety of Paediatric Neurological conditions.
- Knowledge of developmental milestones in the paediatric population
- Knowledge of mandated requirements in terms of child protection issues
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills, including timely keeping of comprehensive medical records
- Ability to work autonomously, as part of a multidisciplinary team and in collaboration with other service providers.
- Patient safety and quality review knowledge and skills
- Leadership and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor paediatric trainees – both AT and BT in either community paediatrics or general paediatrics and medical students
- A demonstrable commitment to Continuing Medical Education and Professional Development
- Demonstrated capacity to coordinate clinical service delivery at a departmental level
- Demonstrated ability to develop and support appropriate clinical and health service research
