Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.
The Team & Role
The NDIS Children’s Team provides family‑centred, evidence‑based allied health services to children and young people aged 0–18 years with developmental delay and disability. Guided by the social model of health, the team works in partnership with children, families and carers to support participation, communication and wellbeing in everyday settings.
As a Grade 2 Speech Pathologist, you will deliver assessment and intervention to children with approved NDIS funding, working primarily in community‑based environments such as family homes, schools, kindergartens and early learning centres. You will be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, continence nursing, dietetics and allied health assistants, providing coordinated individual and group‑based interventions.
The role also has a strong capacity‑building focus, supporting families, carers and sector professionals through outreach, consultancy, coaching and group work. You will assist families to navigate and access relevant health, disability and education services, while maintaining a child‑safe, family‑centred approach to practice.
As an experienced clinician, you will support and supervise Grade 1 Speech Pathologists and students, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and manage a complex caseload while maintaining high standards of documentation, accountability and professional practice. Additional responsibilities within the NDIS and Disability Program may be undertaken as required.
