The Team & Role
The Supervisor of Prevocational Training (SPT), working as part of the Medical Education team and under the strategic guidance of the Director of Clinical Training, is responsible for coordinating and supporting high quality supervision, education and wellbeing for prevocational trainees across Bayside Health Peninsula Care Group. This role will ensure supervision, learning opportunities, work environment and support for prevocational trainees is in accordance with the standards of the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) and Australian Medical Council (AMC).
The Supervisor of Prevocational Training will also work closely with Bayside Health Peninsula Care Group’s Director of Clinical Training (DCT) to ensure the successful progress of Bayside Health Peninsula Care Group’s junior doctors, and the delivery of high-quality education and training. They may hold designated portfolios in areas such as simulation, communication skills, clinical/practical skills, learning support, wellbeing initiatives, accreditation and data systems, education stream programs, or other strategic education areas. Portfolio allocation may be reviewed and redistributed periodically to support service needs, staff development, or organisational priorities. The SPT is expected to collaborate closely with Medical Education Unit staff, the Director of Clinical Training, and senior clinical staff to ensure continuity, coordination, and high-quality delivery across all portfolios.

Skills & Experience Required

Be registered by the Medical Board of Australia with a specialist qualification (any specialist college) and not have any imposed restrictions on their practice by AHPRA

A relevant current appointment with the health service

Significant experience in medical education/teaching, including training as a supervisor that includes education/teaching skills;

Excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work to set timeframes / deadlines.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to interact with junior doctors and other key stakeholders as required
