Classification Range: RPN4 or Allied Health Equivalent

Location: Based at Yuille Street Frankston, with outreach across the catchment and all sites

Employment Type: Ongoing, Part Time (4 days per week)

On 1 January 2026 five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health. A newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.  

The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education, and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

What You Will Be Doing

The Youth Prevention and Recovery Care (YPARC) Service as part of the Infant Child and Youth Mental health and Wellbeing Service, provides short term residential treatment, care and support to young people aged 16-25 years who present with a range of mental and emotional health difficulties.  The YPARC is purpose built to meet the unique developmental needs of young people, providing a home like environment that is staffed 24 hours/7 days a week. The YPARC service is delivered in collaboration with a partner provider. This collaboration recognises the unique opportunity to provide young people and their carers/families with support during the early stages of an illness or episode and to provide them with treatment and strategies to manage mental health problems.

The Team leader needs to work cohesively with the Non-governmental Organisation (NGO) to guide and continue to build a united team, in a safe and supported environment. YPARC is underpinned by the principles of Recovery Orientated and Person Centred Practices. The Team Leader needs to be adaptable when supporting the team to establish a care and treatment plan for each individual maintaining the principles of the core program.  

The Team Leader, in conjunction with the Team Manager, NGO Manager and Consultant Psychiatrist, are responsible for the provision of high quality clinical leadership, monitoring and evaluation of clinical services to young people, their families and carers. The Team Leader in conjunction with the Team Manager is responsible for ensuring operational outcomes in relation to financial and human resource management, operational targets and key performance indicators.

What You Need
We anticipate you will have:

  • Registered Nurse, Social Worker, OT or Clinical Psychologist with relevant registration
  • RPN ONLY: Post graduate qualification in Mental Health or specialist undergraduate Mental Health program
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership experience
  • Experience in the mental health field including acute inpatient services and/or community mental health care
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high quality outcomes for participants
