The Mental Health and Wellbeing Local
The Frankston Local operates six days a week, with extended operating hours to support a flexible and responsive service. The Local Service model will provide an integrated treatment, care and wellbeing support response for consumers experiencing a mental health challenge and co-occurring substance use or addiction and their family members or carers. This approach will improve capacity of individuals to engage in our community and respond to any future psychological distress.

The Mental Health Locals are a big and important step towards ensuring all Victorians – no matter their experience – get valuable and supportive mental health care in their community. In Frankston, Wellways, Mentis Assist and Peninsula Health are working together to provide innovative, mental health and wellbeing supports to ensure everyone can access treatment and care closer to home.


The new Frankston Mental Health Local will provide welcoming and inclusive support for people aged 26 years and over who are experiencing mental health challenges, including people with co-occurring alcohol and drug addiction treatment and care needs.

What You Will Be Doing
The Towards Change Clinical Team B is a comprehensive highly skilled multi-disciplinary team comprised of a Psychologists, Neuropsychologist, Exercise Physiologist, Dietician, and specialist occupational therapists.  The broader team at the Local includes the Towards Change Clinical Team A, the Support and Connect Team, and the Building Community Capacity Team. These teams consist of clinical and non-clinical staff, as well as team members with lived experience. Their work is backed by strong leadership and efficient administrative support, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality treatment, care, and support.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Towards Change Clinical Lead B is responsible for the clinical leadership and day-to-day management of the team. They contribute to the achievement of service targets, and key performance indicators, supporting the broader operational goals. The Clinical Lead B plays a key role in planning and ensuring effective resource allocation within the service. They lead a diverse group of staff to deliver safe, evidence-based, person-centred care that achieves high-quality outcomes for clients. Additionally, they are responsible for coordinating quality improvement initiatives, supporting accreditation processes, and facilitating service reviews.

In addition, the Towards Change Clinical Lead B serves as a liaison between the Mental Health and Wellbeing Local and the Area Mental Health Service by maintaining open communication channels and participating in meetings focused on risk management and daily operations.

What You Need
We anticipate you will have:

  • Registered Nurse, Social Worker, OT or Clinical Psychologist with relevant registration. 
  • RPN ONLY: Post graduate qualification in Mental Health or specialist undergraduate Mental Health program. 
  • 5 years experience in Mental Health 
  • Demonstrated management and leadership experience or a specialists undergraduate psychiatric/mental health nursing program. 
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary framework
