  • Exciting opportunity to be involved in role development and strategic planning of vascular access management in a supportive team
  • Permanent part Time, 16 hours per fortnight. 

  • Located in: Penisnula University Hospital, Frankston Victoria  

  • Classification: RN G5 CLIN CONS C Y1- Y2 (ZA7- ZA8)  plus super 

 

On 1st January 2026, five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health; a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.   

  

The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1st January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health. 

 

The Team & Role 

Peninsula Health is looking for a person with advanced nursing skills and vascular access experience who is passionate about vascular access to support the incumbent Vascular Access CNC. The role will involve embedding evidence- based protocols for device selection and ultrasound guided peripheral intravenous cannulation. They will also provide clinical leadership, education and strategic direction across the service.

Skills and Experience Required 

 Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration

  • Minimum 3 years post graduate experience in acute care
  • Peripheral Intravenous Cannula insertion skills and expertise
  • Expert knowledge in Vascular Access Device management
  • Sound knowledge of NSQHS and other national standards relating to Vascular Access devices and Infection Control
  • Experience in development of Quality Improvement Programs
