Classification: Grade 2*

On 1 January 2026 five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health. A newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.  

 

The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

What You Will Be Doing   

 

The grade 2 physiotherapist is responsible for providing safe, personal, effective and connected care to patients predominantly with orthopaedic conditions in an acute inpatient setting with requirements to work in outpatient, subacute or community settings as needed. The caseload will often be post-surgical orthopaedic but also may include other surgical patients, and patients with general medical and general debility conditions. The grade 2 will work flexibly with the broader Physiotherapy team to ensure patients receive excellent care. The grade 2 physiotherapist provides supervision for grade 1 physiotherapists and allied health assistants and plays a key role in the provision of education to undergraduate physiotherapy students.  

 
What You Need  

We anticipate you will have:  

Essential
•    Current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
•    Current Working with Children Check.
•    Demonstrated ability to competently and autonomously deliver high quality Physiotherapy assessment, treatment and patient management for orthopaedic patients and other patient groups as required.
•    Demonstrated capacity to teach, support and supervise junior Physiotherapists and undergraduate Physiotherapy students.
•    Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
•    Demonstrated commitment to continuous and innovative improvement through quality and/or research activities.
•    Demonstrated participation in professional development.
•    Current Victorian Driver’s licence
Desirable
•    Previous experience working across the care continuum (acute to subacute to community)

*Please refer to Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2026 salary circular for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
