The Team & Role 

There is currently an opportunity to join a supportive team at Rosebud Hospital, as a Grade 2 Social Worker. This position will involve working with adults who may be experiencing a wide range of medical issues across both acute and subacute settings.  This role is suitable for current Grade 2 Social Workers looking for a change of setting, or Grade 1 Social Workers with hospital experience who are ready to transition to a Grade 2 role.  You will receive regular support and supervision from a dedicated, onsite Site Senior Social Worker.  Grade 2 Social Workers also provide supervision to Grade 1 Social Workers and students.  You will be working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide support to patients and carers during inpatient admissions.  You will be required to have a strong knowledge of the psychosocial issues that our local community experience and be able to undertake psychosocial assessments, risk assessments, develop interventions, provide emotional support and work alongside internal and external teams to develop patient-centered discharge plans.

Skills & Experience Required 

We anticipate you will have:   

  • You will need to hold a Bachelor Degree or Qualifying Masters in Social Work & have relevant post qualification work experience. Post graduate studies are highly regarded and may be eligible for a higher education allowance. 
  • As a multi-site organisation you may be required to work across sites. You will have access to our extensive pool of fleet cars and will need a Victorian Drivers licence.
