On 1st January 2026, five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health; a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.
The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1st January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.
The Team & Role
The Grade 2 or 3 Paediatric Physiotherapist is an integral member of the physiotherapy team and works within the Paediatric stream of the Physiotherapy Department. This role provides clinical services to paediatric inpatients in the Special Care Nursery, Paediatric and Adolescent wards, and to paediatric outpatients at the Frankston Hospital. The Grade 2 or 3 paediatric Physiotherapist has responsibilities for teaching and supervising staff and undergraduate students and plays a key role in ensuring our paediatric services are of a high standard and are continuously improving.

Skills and Experience Required
Essential
• Registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
• Current Working With Children Check
• Significant clinical experience in paediatric physiotherapy and demonstrated capacity to apply these skills in an acute and acute outpatient setting
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
• Takes an organised and methodical approach to the prioritisation of tasks
• Demonstrated skills in the provision of clinical supervision and clinical education
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous and innovative improvement through quality and/or research activities
• Developing leadership skills
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
Desirable
• Relevant post-graduate qualifications or working towards same
• Member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association Paediatric Special Interest Group
