Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.

 

The Team & Role

As Head of Unit Rehabilitation Medicine, you will provide strategic and clinical leadership to specialists, junior medical staff and allied health professionals across the rehabilitation service. Reporting to the Clinical Director (RAPPS), you will play a key role in shaping service delivery, driving clinical excellence and supporting the ongoing evolution of rehabilitation models of care.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based rehabilitation medicine services across multiple sites
  • Driving a culture of clinical excellence, safety and continuous improvement
  • Providing leadership, direction and change management to a multidisciplinary team
  • Supporting workforce development, including recruitment, training and wellbeing of medical staff
  • Contributing to service planning, innovation and the development of future models of care
  • Ensuring effective resource management and financial stewardship within the service

 

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a Rehabilitation Physician who is passionate about delivering high-quality care while shaping the future of rehabilitation services within a large, integrated health network.

Skills & Experience Required

  •  Medical Practitioner Registered in Australia.
  • Rehabilitation Medicine Specialist qualifications FAFRM (RACP).
  • Relevant track record and experience in leading rehabilitation teams.
  • Sound clinical knowledge, skills and experience in contemporary medical and evidence-based practice.
  • Patient safety and quality review knowledge and skills
  • Excellence in interpersonal skills
  • Ability to implement change
  • Leadership and management skills (Desirable)
  • Teaching skills (Desirable)
  • Financial literacy (Desirable)
