The Team & Role
Peninsula Health, Peninsula University Hospital is looking for a Casual/Reliever Paediatrician to become part of the acute ward duty roster with on-call responsibilities as well as the ability to cover Outpatient Paediatric Clinics as required. This is a position at Bayside Health-Peninsula University hospital / Hastings Community Centre to support the current paediatric work force.
Peninsula University Hospital has a 12 bed Children’s Ward and 12 bed Special Care Unit, with most acute admissions through the Emergency Departments at Peninsula University and Rosebud Hospitals. There is 24-hour Registrar cover. However, the successful applicant needs to be available for emergencies with the neonatal and paediatric settings within 30 minute timeframe from call to bedside. The applicant needs to be flexible and available to cover SMS roster ‘gaps’ and will be solely on duty at Bayside Health when rostered. This Casual/Reliever position is to cover Paediatric Consultants for leave, including sabbatical leave, long service leave, annual leave, CME leave and sick leave and Maternity leave as required.

Skills & Experience Required

Medical Practitioner Registered in Australia.

Medical Practitioner Registered in Australia.

Recent completion of APLS and/ or neonatal resuscitation courses

Mentoring and teaching Junior Medical Staff and medical students

Sound clinical knowledge, skills and experience in contemporary medical and evidence based practice relevant to variety of medical conditions.
