What You Will Be Doing
The Allied Health Assistant grade 2 is responsible for working within the inpatient subacute occupational therapy service. The grade 2 AHA assists Allied Health Professionals in the provision of best practice patient centred clinical care and further supports smooth Allied Health operations through non-clinical duties.
The AHA performs work of a general nature within the AHA scope of practice under the delegation and supervision of Allied Health Professionals (AHP).
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
- Minimum qualification of Allied Health Assistance Certificate III level from RTO or equivalent, (grade 2).
- Experience working in acute or sub-acute inpatient setting (student experience included).
- Demonstrated understanding of the goals and priorities of occupational therapy within a hospital setting.
- Ability to provide individual therapy and education to patients as prescribed by the occupational therapist.
- Understanding of normal development and medical conditions, as relevant to the role
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team with minimal supervision
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills through direction and feedback
- Ability to use a wide range of software applications for word processing, equipment database, ordering and invoicing.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Demonstrated problem solving and organisational skills.

*Please refer to Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2026 for salary circular for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
