Classification: Registered Psychiatric Nurse – Grade 3, Year 1-4 (NP81 – NP74) or Allied Health Grade 3 Equivalent plus super

Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.

The Team & Role

The Mornington Adult Community Mental Health Team (MACMHT) provides specialist assessment, treatment, and case management services to adults aged 25 to 65 years experiencing significant mental health conditions, as well as support to their carers and families. Consumers accessing the service present with a wide range of mental health diagnoses and often experience co-occurring conditions, including substance use disorders and complex psychosocial issues.

The Case Management team delivers assertive, recovery-oriented community treatment and works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework to ensure safe, effective, and coordinated care.

The Community Mental Health Clinician, as a member of the multidisciplinary team, provides timely and responsive mental health assessment, treatment, and support to individuals requiring urgent,

short-term, or ongoing intensive community-based interventions. The clinician practices within their professional scope to deliver safe, evidence-based, person-centred care, supporting consumers to achieve optimal health and recovery outcomes.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Registration as a Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or Clinical Psychologist, with relevant professional registration.
  • Minimum two years post-qualifying professional experience in a Mental Health related setting
  • Clinical understanding of the treatment for mental illness provided in in-patient and community settings, and working knowledge of community support services
  • Excellent skills in comprehensive assessments, discharge planning and counselling
