The Team & Role 

The Falls Prevention Service (FPS) is a specialist assessment clinic under health independence programs. The Grade 2 Physiotherapist is a valued member of a multidisciplinary team who conducts home-based, centre-based or telehealth comprehensive falls risk assessments to reduce falls risk and fall-related injury for older people living in the community. The physio also completes specialist physiotherapy assessments at the falls and fracture prevention clinic, delivers short-term physiotherapy interventions as appropriate. He / she also delivers preventative programs including group programs for clients and education to other clinical staff, clients and community organisations as required.

Skills & Experience Required 

  • Current registration with AHPRA. 
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
  • Demonstrated competence in physiotherapy assessment and interventions for elderly clients at risk of falls. 
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in delivering home-based assessment and intervention.
