The Team & Role 

The Women’s Health Unit at Bayside Health is looking to recruit O&G Consultants with vary EFT this position will include responsibilities at Peninsula University Hospital, Frankston Surgical Centre, Sandringham Hospital and Wonthaggi Hospital. This position will provide general obstetric and gynaecological services according to local, national and international standards, with an interest in providing education support to RANZCOG trainees, registrars, medical students and midwives.

Our Obstetrics service provides care for around 3000 births per year with pregnancies of a range of complexities. We have a rapidly growing Gynaecology service, with great surgical training opportunities. We pride ourselves on a culture of support and mentoring, and a strong collaborative relationship with midwives, nurses, allied health and other specialty teams. Research and academic opportunities are available with onsite and tertiary affiliate support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
  • Provide gynaecological services including acute, outpatient, surgical and perioperative care.
  • Training and supervision of education for RANZCOG trainees.
  • Provide education and support to registrars, HMOs, medical students and midwives.
  • Work closely with Women’s Health medical, midwifery, allied health and support staff.
  • Participating in Safety & Quality activities of the department including risk management, incident reporting and reviews, guideline development and audit.

Skills & Experience Required 

  • Registered as a Specialist Medical Practitioner with AHPRA  

  • FRANZCOG Fellowship

  • At least 1 year of experience in Australia

  • A high standard of clinical knowledge, skills and experience in contemporary O&G and evidence based practice
