Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026. 

 

The Team & Role 

Join a supportive, multidisciplinary team working with children experiencing mild to moderate development delays and make a meaningful difference with early intervention. This role balances direct clinical work, capacity building and community connection with a variety of clinic, and collaboration work. 

A day in the life:

  • Start your morning on site with a friendly and supportive team of Speech Pathologists, Social Workers, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Early Educational Advisors, Dietitians and Podiatrists, all collocated, making collaboration easy and genuine
  • Complete Initial Assessments using a holistic family-centred approach informed by the social model of health
  • Deliver short-term, goal-focused therapy that builds a child's everyday participation at home, kinder or school
  • A focus on children with mild to moderate delays see progress and impact
  • A balance of OT initial assessments and short-term therapy, working with children and their carers to build capacity
  • Offer supervision and support to Grade 1’s and students and contribute to peer supervision
  • Participate in monthly multidisciplinary screening days with your colleagues
  • Connect with kinders, schools, paediatricians & M&CHN
  • Attend regular OT discipline and local team meetings
  • Access regular and supportive supervision with an open-door policy for support.

Skills & Experience Required 

  • Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy and maintain current full registration with AHPRA
  • Ability to assess occupational performance in the areas of fine motor skills, handwriting, sensory processing, regulation, organisation, and self-care skills, and determine appropriate intervention relevant to the child and their family. 
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Developed multidisciplinary skills with a wide range of children (ages 0 – 12 years)
  • Experience providing evidence–based therapy services to children with developmental delays and their families within the community sector
  • Established skills and commitment to working in child-centred and family-focused practices including skills in working with vulnerable and disadvantaged families
  • Skills in supervision and development of Occupational Therapists and/or OT Students
