Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.
The Team & Role
The team includes: Psychiatrist, Nurses, Community Mental Health Practitioners (Mind Australia), Social Worker and Psychologist
Peninsula Care Group 10 bed Youth PARC (YPARC) and Adult PARC (APARC) services based in Frankston, run in collaboration with the partner provider, are 24 /7 residential services providing support to people experiencing significant mental health conditions that require clinical and/or psychosocial interventions, with an early intervention and recovery focus. The model of care also recognises the importance of the formation of local partnerships with relevant services such as community mental health services, alcohol and other drug (AOD) services, housing, primary health, education and vocational/training services. The PARC Service is a voluntary program and the program runs for 2 -4 weeks. PARCS support consumer who are stepping down from hospital and those in community who are requiring additional support.
The Occupational Therapist is a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, utilising clinical expertise to provide assessment and intervention through individual work, group work and consultation to the team. This role will work across both YPARC and APARC.

Skills & Experience Required
- Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (via AHPRA).
- Experience as an Occupational Therapist in mental health setting with a high level demonstrated knowledge of the assessment of occupational performance considering physical, cognitive and psychosocial aspects of the person and their environment and determining appropriate intervention.
- Demonstrated skills in behavioural assessments, intervention/therapies and behavioural regulation strategies.
- Ability to assess and prescribe equipment or modifications to optimise physical function, this may include personal care, falls prevention or other ADLs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, the National Standards for Mental Health Services 2010, and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards including EQuIP and National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
