The Team & Role
The Outpatients Administration Clerk plays a vital role in supporting outpatient services by delivering a professional and welcoming reception experience while providing efficient administrative support. This position involves greeting and assisting patients and visitors, managing appointments and patient flow, and performing accurate data entry and record management using relevant IT systems. The role requires maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with hospital policies, as well as supporting referral management, documentation, and reporting processes. Working collaboratively with administrative, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy teams, the clerk contributes to smooth clinic operations, responds to enquiries, and provides ongoing support to clinical staff and management.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Understands, and is able to use, common software applications, Microsoft office.
- Effective, clear and courteous reception & customer service communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Commitment to patient-centered care, upholding privacy and confidentiality standards in all interactions.
- Previous experience in an administrative or reception role (healthcare experience preferred).
- Demonstrated competency in medical terminology.
- Experience with iPM patient processing system. (Outpatient processing component).
- Ability to manage a multi-line telephone system.
