The Team & Role
Peninsula University Hospital is seeking a casual pharmacist to support services across its Main Pharmacy (Level 3) and Inpatient Pharmacy Satellite in the Acute Tower (Level 8), working under the Associate Director of Pharmacy – Frankston Operations. The role involves delivering safe, effective and patient-centred care through dispensary services, medication supply, and provision of medicines information to patients and healthcare professionals. Pharmacists will contribute to inventory management, pharmacy systems maintenance, and operational procedures, while participating in education, training, and supervision of staff and students. Grade 1 Pharmacists focus on core service delivery, whereas Grade 2 Pharmacists additionally demonstrate advanced practice, leadership in education and research, and involvement in specialised areas. Key responsibilities include accurate dispensing, patient counselling, ensuring medication safety and continuity of care, and maintaining high-quality standards through effective communication and adherence to best practice.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
• Demonstrated commitment to further education and self-directed learning
• Current or recent hospital pharmacy experience in operations or clinical services
• Experience with using Electronic Medication Management systems, preferably Cerner
• Experience with iPharmacy dispensing system
• Working towards or hold relevant postgraduate qualifications related to the profession
