What You Will Be Doing
The Peninsula Health Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PHMWS) is committed to the principles of Recovery‐Orientated Practice. It aims to provide timely and equitable access to a quality service, and actively supports and encourages consumer and carer participation in all aspects of planning and delivery of mental health services.


The Program Manager Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (Adult Acute) will provide operational and strategic leadership to the following areas within PHMHS:

  • Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (inclusive telephone triage and PACER services)
  • Ward 2 West (Adult Acute Inpatient Unit)
  • Consultation Liaison (ED and general wards)
  • Psychiatric Assessment and Planning Unit (PAPU)


This role will operate in a dual governance partnership with the Head of Adult Psychiatry to ensure the provision of high quality, evidenced based mental health programs.

This position ensures that the PHMWS model of care and service delivery framework is based on quality outcomes, monitoring and continuous development and improvement of clinical services.

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:

  • Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Clinical Psychologist with relevant registration
  • Post Graduate qualification in Mental Health or similar
  • Extensive experience in the management of Mental Health services
  • Experience in strategic and operational planning
  • Proven ability to meet strategic, operational and budget objectives
  • Advanced leadership skills and demonstrated ability to lead in complex environments
