What You Will Be Doing
The Aged Persons Community Mental Health Team is a specialist multi-disciplinary and integrated service that provides care coordination through an assertive outreach model for older people who are experiencing severe and persistent mental health disorders. The team provides a broad range of interventions, care coordination and support for those clients and their carers living in the Peninsula Health Mental Health Service catchment.
The Senior Residential Support Worker (RSP) Clinician will work Monday to Friday to provide specialist assessments and behavioural and treatment strategies to persons in Residential Aged Care Facilities who primarily experience a Dementia or Neurocognitive disorder with or without Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia. A key feature of the role will also be education, consultation and developing collaborative partnerships with these facilities.
The successful applicant will be an experienced mental health nurse with senior clinical responsibilities, supervising and supporting members of the multidisciplinary team and will have some operational responsibilities working with the teams Manager.

What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
- Nursing - Registered Nurse with appropriate post graduate qualification in psychiatric/mental health nursing and eligible for registration with AHPRA
- Proven ability in the management of clients with a major mental illness and in the techniques of assessment and crisis intervention, and recovery frameworks
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge in the Aged Care sector with skills commensurate with experience
- Demonstrated capacity to comply with all relevant legislation
- A current Victorian Drivers Licence
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 and the National Safety and Quality Health Services Standards
- Extensive and/or leadership experience in the mental health field including acute inpatient services and/or community mental health care
