The Team & Role
The Grade 2 Speech Pathologist works within the multidisciplinary Community Rehabilitation Program (CRP) to achieve optimal outcomes for clients in the community setting. This may include a combination of centre based, home based and telehealth service delivery. There is a strong emphasis on client focused goal setting with clear timelines and a planned discharge, with a team approach.
The Speech Pathology team provides evidence-based, person-centred care to clients with a broad range of communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders within a multidisciplinary model of care. The Speech Pathologist will be actively involved in clinical supervision and provide support to Grade 1 Speech Pathologists, Allied Health assistants and/or volunteers. Student clinical education and quality improvement activity add to the variety of experiences within the role.

Skills & Experience Required
Essential
• Eligible for practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia
• Current Victorian Driver’s licence
• Demonstrated excellence in the provision of best/evidence based adult related speech pathology
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous and innovative improvement through actively leading quality and/or research activities
• Supervision / formal support for Grade 1 Speech Pathologists, Allied Health Assistants and/or students
Desirable
• Videofluoroscopy competency or commitment to undertaking and maintaining competency
• Experience in Community Rehabilitation setting
• Lee Silverman Voice Treatment or Speak Out! certification
