The Team & Role
As the friendly first contact for patients and visitors to Peninsula Care Group and Peninsula University Hospital, this multi-faceted role is responsible for dealing with phone and reception desk enquiries.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Assist visitors and staff with directions in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Demonstrated ability to operate the Switchboard and other relevant software associated with this role.
- Able to calmly deal with internal and external emergency calls/respond codes
- Assist with patient enquiries over the phone or in person in a friendly manner

Skills & Experience Required
- Basic Computer Skills
- A strong understanding and experience with customer service
- Previous Switchboard / Reception experience
- Aware of, interprets and applies policies
- Understands the purpose of, and is able to use, common software applications
- Clear speaking voice
- Must be able to work nights, weekends and public holidays
- Previous experience in a health setting (desirable)
